Postdoc Position in Immunotherapy for Pediatric Cancers

We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible, and energetic postdoc with experience in CAR T-cell engineering to join the Princess Máxima Center. The Janda group has a strong interest in the structure-function relationship of ligand-receptor interactions and applying these principals to improve therapies for pediatric cancers. This project aims to establish innovative approaches to interrogate the structure-function of CAR designs for engineering more effective CAR T-cells for pediatric solid tumors. You will collaborate closely with groups involved in the CAR T-cell Program at the Máxima. Performing experimental/web lab work will be an important part of this position.

Your qualifications

  • A PhD in immune-oncology, immunology cancer biology or related disciplines.
  • Expertise in CAR T-cell engineering, CAR T-cell functional assays, and CRISPR screens are essential.
  • Demonstrated scientific productivity, as evidenced by a strong publication record in top tier journals.
  • Strong motivation, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and to work in a team is critical.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills are required.

Our job offer

We offer a full-time position (based on 36 hours a week) in a very stimulating and interactive research environment. You will also have the opportunity to actively collaborate with various research groups at the Princess Máxima Center. You will initially be appointed for the duration of one year, with a possible extension. Your gross monthly salary will depend on your experience and background, starting in scale 60 with 8,33% gross monthly salary holiday allowance and 8,33 % end-of-year bonus. The Princess Máxima Center operates according to the collective labor agreement ‘cao algemene ziekenhuizen’.
